The trek spans three days, with two days of walking equipped with crampons and ice axes for safety (from November to April). This itinerary is tailored for enthusiastic hikers, as the climb is non-technical but includes some straightforward scrambling and snow slopes. The sights from the peak are incredible, offering a breathtaking view of the mountains towards Marrakech to the north and the beginning of the Sahara to the south. Surrounding you are the rugged peaks of the High Atlas, extending as far as the eye can see in every direction.

Azib n Tamsoult Journey from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains: a 1.5-hour drive to Imlil (1740m), a well-known starting point for mountaineering adventures. Explore the region and hike to the Tizi-n-Mezzik mountain pass (2489m). Take in the breathtaking views of the Imlil area and the Azzaden valley. Enjoy a packed lunch prepared by our cook amidst a juniper forest. After lunch, descend through the Azzaden valley to the summer village of Tamssoult (2250m). Overnight stay in a refuge or a campsite. Total walking time is 5 hours.  Today features a challenging ascent from the Azzadene Valley to the Toubkal Refuge, passing by the Ighouliden waterfalls and ascending the Tizi Aguelzim pass at 3,560 meters. You'll enjoy lunch surrounded by breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountain Range. You'll spend the night at the Toubkal Refuge (either Niltner Hut or Mouflon), likely sharing a bunk room with fellow trekkers preparing to summit Toubkal the following morning. The trek will take approximately seven hours.

Jour 3 : Camp de base du Toubkal - Sommet du Toubkal - Camp de base du Toubkal - Imlil

Marrakech You will start your day early for the ascent of Toubkal (4,167m), where, if the weather permits, you can enjoy stunning vistas of the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. Afterward, you'll embark on a lengthy descent past the refuge and along the familiar trail returning to Imlil. This day will be quite lengthy, involving 8-9 hours of hiking, with an elevation gain of 900m followed by a nearly 2,500m descent back to Imlil. Typically, you will arrive back in Marrakech by around 5:00 PM.

ACCOMMODATION:..................Tamsoult & Toubkal Mountain hut (Dormitory-style sharing with bunk beds, private rooms available upon request for an additional fee). You also have the option to stay at Riad Atlas Panorama before or after the trek.

Our Berber Cook prepares the meals during the trek, ensuring that the food is both fresh and nutritious. Example meals:

  • Breakfast includes bread, crepes, jam, cookies, fruit, juice, butter, coffee, and milk.

  • Lunch consists of bread, a Moroccan salad, tomatoes, carrots, lentils, beans, rice or pasta, fish (such as sardines or tuna), and seasonal fruit.

  • Dinner includes soup, traditional Moroccan tajine, couscous, olives, nuts, and seasonal fruit.
