Upon arrival, enjoy a complimentary transfer from the airport to your riad in Marrakech. This vibrant city boasts numerous palaces, gardens, and mosques, including the 12thcentury Koutoubia Mosque. The medina, a densely packed, walled medieval city, dates back to the Berber Empire and features maze-like alleys with lively souks selling traditional textiles, spices, pottery, and jewelry.

After breakfast, transfer to Oukaimeden, the trek’s starting point, where you meet your mule team. Trek to Tizi Nadi, then continue to Tacheddirt, the highest settlement in the Rhirhaia Valley.

Day 3: Tacheddirt (2,300m) – Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,280m) – Aroumd (1,800m) – Imlil (1,740m) | 5-6h

Leave Tacheddirt and trek through Tizi n’Tamatert Pass, descending into Imlil Valley and the village of Targa Imoula. Continue to Ait Mizane Valley, where you get your rst glimpse of Mount Toubkal from Aroumd, the largest village in the Ait Mizane Valley. Explore traditional terraced farming before reaching Imlil.

Today's route offers panoramic views of the mountains and valleys, including Oukaïmeden, Tasskssout, Imsserdan, and Azzaden Valley. From Imlil, trek west through almond, walnut, and apple groves, passing Berber hamlets. Ascend across Tizi M’zik
pass (2,664m) for far-reaching views, then descend through juniper and pine forests to Tamsoult Cascade, perfect for a picnic lunch and a swim. Return to Imlil.

Start the day by trekking through Ait Mizane Valley, crossing a oodplain and following mule tracks to the cliffs above the valley. After crossing a river, pass the Shrine of Sidi Chamharouch and begin a steady ascent to the snowline and Refuge Les Mouons.

 

  • Accommodation: Refuge Les Mouons (dormitory; optional upgrade to a private room depending on availability)

  • Meals included: Full board

  • Walking for the day: 6-7 hours

Begin early for your ascent to Mount Toubkal’s summit. The route crosses scree elds and a stream, and negotiates boulders and rocks. After cresting the ridgeline and reaching the plateau, a short walk takes you to the summit, offering unrestricted views from the Marrakech Plain to the High Atlas in the north, and as far south as the Anti- Atlas and the Sahara. Descend back to Imlil and transfer to Marrakech.

Accommodation

 

Accommodation ranges from hand-picked riads and guesthouses to mountain refuges on days two (Tacheddirt) and ve (Mount Toubkal base camp). Refuge Les Mouons, located at 3,207 meters, offers single and family rooms with separate showers, as well as non-mixed dormitories. By default, you will stay in a dormitory, but for an additional fee, private rooms with en-suite facilities can be requested based on availability.
